This lot includes a 1972 Portfolio Collection of 12 Offset Litho Photographic Prints of David Douglas Duncan. One Print is framed and then providing the opportunity to rotate each print out or frame each one for a beautiful collection of his work. Some of the prints do have a print signature. Prints included consist of Painted Sheep Ireland 1956, Tadjiks on Review Russia 1958, Bois de Boulogne Paris 1963, Koya-san Japan 1951, Afghan Tribesman 1955, Balinese Chief 1971, Women of Cairo 1954, Ordonez and Bull 1957, Berber Adultress Morocco 1955, Pablo Picasso 1962, Old Moha the Potter Morocco 1955 and Notre Dame de Paris 1963 which was taken with a prismatic camera and this is a scarce portfolio.  

David Douglas Duncan was born in 1916 in Kansan City Missouri. He was a Photographer for Life Magazine. In 1972, the year this portfolio was produced in Switzerland, the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York honored Duncan by asking him to be the first photographer to exhibit his work.  He has roamed the world since 1938 as a photographer, foreign correspondent and art historian. He is a retired lieutenant Colonel.  He is also known for photographing the Marine Corps aviation throughout the Pacific, made the first landing upon the Japanese mainland and photographed surrender ceremonies.
