Gorgeous Free Standing, Mid Century Modern, Paul McCobb Walnut & Brass Wall Unit. 4 Doors that open to large storage areas, 6 Open Shelving Display Areas, One Pull Down Liquor Cabinet, Two Speaker Panels that open to large area for speakers, 11 Drawers, 4 Cubed Storage Display Areas and the 2 Sony Speakers seen in cabinet. Very Minor wear due to use. The Speakers are untested and do need a gentle cleaning or wipe down. This lot consists of the McCobb Wall Unit & Speakers only. Any items seen displayed on the unit except for the 2 Speakers are not included with this lot. These units have an estimated value of $4000.00 - $6000.00. A Unit that was smaller than this particular unit sold on past auction for $1,880.00. This lot has a starting bid price set at $200.00. Winning Bidder must meet that price or go above that price to win this lot. Please take into consideration this would need two people to disassemble. Most of Paul McCobb's Wall Units have the hardware inside of the cabinet.

Paul Winthrop McCobb was born on June 5th 1917 in Boston Massachusetts.  He stands out as one of America’s most influential mid-century designers. He attended Vesper George School of Art but never completed and enlisted in the Army in 1942. He was discharged for medical reasons in 1943. One of this first jobs was working for Jordan Marsh department store as an interior designer and did most of the window displays. He won the Good Design Award by the Museum of Modern Art in New York four separate times in the 1950's.  His work can be found in public museum collections to include Smithsonian Design Museum, Brooklyn Museum, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Cleveland Museum of Art and many more. He passed away at the early age of 51 in 1969.
