1940's Release Date, Planters Peanuts Glass Counter Advertising Display Jar with Embossed Planters on Face of Jar. Made in USA on Underside & Peanut Finial on Lid.  There is one line on underside of bottom that may be a mark left when manufactured since this is smooth but we have added last photograph in order for bidder to view and to take into consideration when placing a bid.  Minor residue on inside bottom that can be removed with the proper cleanser as can be seen in photographs.

This is considered one of the 15 most collectible jars and this particular jar has sold on past auctions for $435.00.

This jar is listed at the National Museum of American History. Mario Peruzzi, founded the Planters® brand Peanut Company in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania in 1906 with  friend and business partner, Amedeo Obici. In 1913, he built his first mass-processing plant in Suffolk, VA. In 1916, after entering a contest for a mascot, Antonio Gentile submitted his sketch and won the contest for a brand icon. A commercial artist later added a top hat, a monocle and a cane. In 2016, the Mr. Peanut Character celebrated the 100th anniversary of his character. In 2020, the character sacrificed himself to save his friends before being reborn as Baby Nut during the Superbowl Big Game.
