This Lot consists of a Collection of 5 Original Nancy Ann Storybook Dolls with Original Labeled Boxes to include Little Miss Muffet Doll No. 118, A Dillar -- A Dollar Doll No. 112 and Over The Hills Doll No. 114 with Tag. Also includes Original Black & White Brochure. The Dolls, outfits and boxes are in assorted condition as can be seen in photographs. Companion Lots in #70A, #75A, #78A, #94, #95 and #96. There were several styles of dolls sold by the original company. The original dolls were made of bisque and features included several different characteristics such as molded socks, jointed legs, wrist tags, etc. Also, outfits changed from year to year and this may cause dolls to be in incorrect boxes. The value of the original dolls vary according to these features and these are being sold AS IS. We highly suggest, those bidders who are interested in viewing these dolls in person, please call the auction manager directly no later than close of business day the Tuesday before the auction closes. These dolls have had past auction sales ranging from $250.00 - $1525.00 Per Doll.

Nancy Ann Abbott started her doll making business in 1936. After taking on a partner, Nancy Ann Dressed Dolls were incorporated in San Francisco in 1937. By the early 1940's, the company reached a million dollar gross yearly income and shortly later production reached 12,000 dolls per day with the company name being changed to Nancy Ann Storybook Dolls Inc. Nancy Ann who became known as "The Doll Lady" passed away in 1964. In 1967, the business was sold and ann auction took place in the 1970's where all original doll parts and accessories were eliminated. Only plastic dolls were then produced.
