Description

Orange Vase with White Interior Casing and Hand Blown Ball. Please note that not all Holmegaard pieces had signatures. Also, Holmegaard stopped fully signing with stock numbers around 1970 except for limited edition pieces. Holmegaard also used paper labels at a certain point that would fall. We do believe this is a Holmegaard but since this is not stamped, there is no guarantee.

Vases similiar to this have sold on past auctions in prices ranging from $179.00 - $460.00.

The Holmegaard Glass Factory was built in 1825 and founded by Countess Henriette Danneskiold-Samsee after her husband, Count Christian Danneskiold-Samsøe applied to the Danish king to build a glassworks in Holmegaard mars but passed away before receiving a reply.  She decided to continue her late husband's project due to being left with 6 children. She hired Bohemian glassmakers and became one of Denmark’s first female business leaders. In 1928, Jacob E. Bang was employed as Holmegaard’s first designer and he created the JEB 65 vase. And from the 1940s, Per Lütken breathed life into more than 3,000 glass designs. Many manufacturers produced vases similiar in design to the original pieces such as Murano and Alsterfors Glass.
