This has a starting bid set at $1200.00. Winning Bidder must meet that price or go above that price in order to win this lot. Present owner paid $3000.00 for this and was given a signed retail value placed at $3500.00 in 2013.

Martiros Manoukian was born in Yerevan Armenia in 1947. He entered the State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia in 1967, as well as, studied in Moscow and Leningrad. Martiros did everything in his power to avoid mandatory military service during this time. After  completing his studies in 1972, he was forced to enlist and served two years. He describes this period as being the most difficult due to his anti-communist and anti-Russian beliefs. He became a member of the Union of Soviet Artists at the age of 26. He received several awards and had several exhibits for the following 12 years. In 1982, the government of Armenia purchased one of his paintings which still hangs in the Consulate Hall of the main government building in the capital. After immigrating to the United States in 1987, he started selling his works in Laguna Beach, Las Vegas, Miami, and in New York. He has had several exhibits in Paris, Switzerland, Russia, Japan, Hong Kong and in the United States. At the young age of 16, one of his works titled “Girl Of My Dreams,” was awarded first place and brought him critical acclaim. An original painting by Martiros was discussed in 2014 on the syndicated TV program, Pawn Stars.
